Semios, the leading precision-farming platform for permanent crops, announced the release of Semios WiseConn Connect, an integration between the Semios Crop Management Platform and WiseConn’s DropControl system.

Semios WiseConn Connect Overview

Semios WiseConn Connect brings WiseConn’s powerful remote valve and pump control capabilities into Semios’ all-in-one crop management platform so users can more easily monitor, plan, and control irrigation activities from a single system with one login.

“The current state of irrigation technology provides growers with a lot of data but they’re required to do extensive manual calculations and spreadsheet work to translate that information into an irrigation schedule. Then, they still need to direct people in the field to manually control pumps and valves to carry out the schedule,” said Semios Product Manager, Neil Schultz. “Now growers can get the answers they need without digging through all the data and can easily execute their irrigation plans remotely, all from one place.”

While Semios customers are used to receiving detailed soil and plant health data to aid in their decision making, they can now get automated suggestions for ideal weekly irrigation schedules and publish them directly to the WiseConn DropControl System for execution, without leaving the Semios Crop Management Platform.

Semios uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze data from its network of hyper-local sensors including soil moisture, in-canopy evapotranspiration, and on-farm weather data. This automatically generates data-driven irrigation suggestions with the desired parameters established by the grower or their agronomist that provide the ideal irrigation application for each day.

“We have many common customers, especially in the California almond and pistachio grower community who have been asking for this integration”, said WiseConn Vice President of Sales Guillermo Valenzuela. “We’re looking forward to helping them save labor, reduce the hassle of using multiple apps to complete one task, and most importantly, optimize their water use.”

Key Features

  • Publish irrigation schedules directly from the Semios Platform for automatic execution in the field by the WiseConn DropControl system.
  • Save time planning and executing your irrigation schedules by getting all the information you need to make critical water management decisions with confidence and remotely control your valves and pumps from one place.
  • Installation, remote monitoring, and maintenance of Semios equipment are included.

How It Works

1. Enter irrigation zone timing using the Semios Irrigation Planner.

You can follow Semios Irrigation Suggestions for an ideal weekly irrigation schedule based on your on-farm data, or enter in your custom irrigation schedule.

An irrigation schedule with the daily recommended hours of irrigation for a week.

Semios Irrigation Suggestions automatically generate an ideal weekly irrigation schedule for your site.

Click and drag your desired irrigation zone timing using the new interface on the Semios Irrigation Planner to quickly create your irrigation schedule.

You can click and drag to create your irrigation schedule using the Semios Irrigation Planner.

2. The Semios Irrigation Planner will automatically generate a prediction of the available water content in reaction to your planned irrigation schedule.

A dotted line representing the predicted available water content for all depths will adjust based on your planned irrigation schedule.

3. Once you're done reviewing the changes, you can publish your plan to Wiseconn DropControl directly from the Semios Platform.

If you've turned on full remote control via Semios, the plan will automatically be executed by the WiseConn DropControl system. Alternatively, you can choose to require confirmation of the published irrigation plan from the WiseConn DropControl system.

A confirmation pops up, showing that the irrigation plan is published to WiseConn with a timestamp.
